Rimbaud mask is a drawing of Arthur Rimbaud’s face wearing a japanese traditional mask. The mask represents a devil spiting fire. Since the name of the collection of poems is « a season in hell » and since the poems talks a lot about damnation and hell, our first idea was to associate Rimbaud with the devil.
The devil is a reference to the Japanese culture because the poet writes a lot about orientalism in his work. So the drawing is inspired by the Japanese « bosozoko » which is the Japanese motorcycle subculture.
